my guess everybody is delaying leaving the service meeting - and this is an attempt to fix this.. that's what i see in our service groups - no one is in any rush to go out (again).

I'm starting to develop a real hatred toward this religion
by man in black inthis past week i flew out of town to attend a seminar for work, then afterwards i drove 150 miles extra to go and visit my dad.. two years ago my mom died, and the lack of concern/caring from the so-called "friends" from two different states was a major reason why i walked away from the jw religion.. anyway, my dad is depressed and his local hall has him doing more fs, and attending the meetings,,, ok so that could be a good thing for him.. but i noticed that service and meeting attendance is the only thing that they are pushing on him.
nobody seems to check up on him, he just jumped at the chance to go out to eat with me.
and the negativity !!!

It is sad. So many have stopped trying as far as career, their own health, family not-in - all in waiting for this promised reward.
The rest have this fear instilled of everything and anything - since its all controlled by Satan.

In retrospect all the warning signs were there that something was wrong.
I see the quality of elders really low. When I was a kid, they had families, jobs, businesses. Now these weird loners, yes-men, and perpetually unemployed seem to climb to the top. They can't run their own life but have plenty of advice for me.
Yes, everyone is worn out. I liken it to an army that is always on high alert for an expected attack and is continually woken up at midnight to run special emergency drills. How, many years can you do that and not affect morale and stamina? You can't sprint on adrenaline for decades on end.

undercover - I was at the MS training. They said that some friends think that they can have fb friends who are disfellowshipped (family and otherwise) That makes it a danger. They also mentioned that some parties have gottten "out of control" there was fornication and worldly people, including children of servants. "An investigation" (creepy now that I am conscious) revealed that everyone who attended the party found out about it through the fb network. Married bro's and sisters have also committed adultery through facebook.
These are the examples I heard as to why fb is the devil's device.

Djeggnog and Leolalia, I am a born in and am active now for 40 plus years. I know that if you presented this dual generation/Joseph explanation say around 1983 - you would've been disfellowshipped unless you "humbly accepted counsel" to never do it again.
We all knew the clock was ticking based on folks who were alive during WWI. Anyone who says otherwise either is lying or simly wasn't there.

The (2003?) Annointed version also created postive discussions which I heard or became part of.
For this change I have had only one person in the hall talking about it to me. (Ironically, the one person who discussed it with me was upset at the way it was explained by a talk. Actually, the talk stayed to script and explained the current teaching.)
I have not heard or overhead any conversations besides that one time. No buzz at all - like the other 2 times.
